RaCING runs in the family
The Spalding family began its venture into short track racing in the 1980's where brothers Rod Spalding and Curt Spalding raced in the Whelen Modifieds and Stock Car divisions respectively. In the late 1990's and early 2000's, there was a transition from short track racing to off-road Jeep and Truck racing for Curt Sr, Curt Jr, William, while son Jared began his career competing in obstacle course four wheeler races. While the Spalding family slowly began regressing from off road racing, Jared quickly found his short track obsession while progressing from motocross to go karts at the age of 12, and making the transition to IMCA Modifieds at the age of 16. While both Curt Sr. and William retired from driving, they still utilized their passion for engines operating the family run machine shop. In 2017 Jared graduated from the University of Northwestern Ohio majoring in High Performance Motorsports, along with driving for the University's team driving both Stock cars and UMP Modifieds. Upon graduating, Jared began his career working in the racing industry as a fabricator for open wheel modifieds before returning home to take over the family business in 2020.

Spalding Hill Road
Appreciating the beauty of northeastern Pennsylvania here in Troy, we currently reside on the original family property on Spalding Hill Road. During the transition of ownership from Will to Jared, we made the decision to re-name, re-brand, and re-locate the business to our new building. Beginning in the fall of 2019, we began the construction of our new shop with the goal of beginning opperation in January 2020. The ability to house our full machine shop and newly added fabrication shop has been a major asset to Spalding Performance as we continue to grow and expand our services.
